Okay, so what do we need to know to Solve One-Step Equations?
What is our goal? What are we looking for?
Isolate the variable!
To get the variable by itself, we will need to add or subtract a number to both sides of the equal sign.
Remember, an equation is like a balance scale. Whatever you do to one side, you must do to the other!
The cool thing is, just as the name implies, solving linear equations only requires one step!
In fact, all you really need to know is how to find the inverse.
What’s an inverse?
An Inverse is something that will undo an operation. In other words, it’s the opposite!
