We will begin with an overview of the steps and rules for how to Solve a Log Equations, and remind ourselves that it is extremely important to simplify (condense) both the left and the right side of the equation so that there is only one term on each.

Next, we will quickly review the properties of both Exponential Functions and Logarithmic Functions, and take a peek at some common mistakes to avoid.

Then we will jump right in, and solve both exponential and logarithmic equations, using our rules and properties.
We will immediately see how straightforward this process is, and how fun it can be to solve log equations!
Yep, math is fun!
But, there is a warning…
…Don’t work to fast and skip steps, because as SOS Math points out, you can’t take the log of a negative number.
So that means, we need to always check our answers before moving on to the next problem.
