The last of our trigonometric identities are the Product-Sum and Sum-Product Identities.
These identities are constructed from the Sum and Difference Identities, and are used in integral calculus to convert product forms to more favorable sum forms, as accurately stated by SOS Math.
Furthermore, the Product-Sum Identities also are used in the study of sound waves in music to convert sum forms to more convenient product forms.
Math has such a sweet sound! Hehehe!
Ok, so in this lesson we will look at the classic Product-Sum Identities as well as their alternate forms.
We will use them to express trig functions as products and as sums, as well as showing how they can be used to prove identities.
The Product-Sum Identities can be tricky at times, so as we progress through the lesson make sure you put your thinking cap on have all of your identity “tools” at the ready!
